Language of Fabric

The Language of Fabric is an exploration of the tactile and expressive potential of textiles. This project examines how different materials interact with light, structure, and movement, revealing their ability to convey texture and depth. By experimenting with pleating, layering, and stretching, I investigated how fabrics can transform into forms that feel organic and alive. The insights gained from this study directly informed the design of the octopus-inspired dress. The project’s focus on texture and material fluidity reflects the undulating movement of the octopus, with each fabric manipulation echoing the creature’s elegant motion through water.

This project laid thegroundworks for the"Octopus" project.
